Roulette Systems
Hundreds of roulette systems have been published over the last 300 years. Almost all of them sit in one of six families. This page maps them out and links to the full guide for each.
Every system listed here has working logic inside the Roulette Strategy Tester. Run them on the same bankroll and base bet to compare honestly.
1. Baseline systems
Baseline systems do not progress. Bet size stays constant regardless of outcome.
- Flat betting - same bet every spin. The cleanest benchmark.
- Red/Black basic - flat even-money bet, used as a teaching example.
2. Negative progression systems
After a loss, bets get bigger. The idea is that one win recovers prior losses. The price is bankroll exposure during long losing streaks.
- Martingale - double after every loss.
- D'Alembert - +1 unit after loss, −1 after win.
- Fibonacci - move forward in 1,1,2,3,5,8… on loss, back two on win.
- Labouchere - cancellation sequence with a target profit.
3. Positive progression systems
After a win, bets get bigger. The idea is to press hot streaks while keeping cold streaks cheap.
- Reverse Martingale - double after every win up to a cap.
- Paroli - press for a 3-win cycle then reset.
- Oscar's Grind - cycle target of +1 unit, increase only after wins.
4. Coverage systems
Coverage systems place multiple bets each spin to cover a large fraction of the wheel.
- James Bond - $140/$50/$10 covers 25 of 37 numbers.
- Two dozens coverage - covers 24 numbers at 2:1.
- Two columns coverage - same idea via columns.
5. Inside-bet systems
Inside-bet systems target single numbers or small groups for high payouts and high variance.
- Single number flat bet - 35:1 payout, 2.70% hit rate.
- Six line flat bet - 5:1, ~16% hit rate.
6. Sector and call-bet systems
These bet on physical wheel sectors instead of numbers in isolation. They are mostly cultural - the math reduces to the same payouts.
- Voisins du Zero - 17-number wheel sector.
- Neighbours bet - selected number plus its physical neighbours.
- Jeu Zero - small sector around zero.
What every system has in common
None of them change the house edge. They change the shape of the risk - flat versus spiked, slow versus fast - but the long-run expectation is always negative.
